World Happiness
According to analytical social psychologist, Dr. Adrian White, Denmark currently tops the list of “Happiest countries” in the world.
We’re looking much more at whether you are satisfied with your life in general,” White told Reuters. “Whether you are satisfied with your situation and environment.”
The main factors that affected happiness were health provision, wealth and education, according to White who said his research had produced the “first world map of happiness.”
Unsurprisingly, western countries are mostly at the top of the list, with most of Africa at the bottom. Still South America seems in fairly good spirits! Link

Well imagine my surprise of finding Finland – they country with highest suicide rate in EU – just before Sweden at 6th place. I guess the ones who took their own lives or were too drunk, couldn’t participate in the study …

I find it strange that the UK are so far down the list – 41st place. I would have thought that they’d be higher up, but it seems that health and access to education were – taken together – even more important than being rich (on this link there’s more detail on the study, and health was the most important factor, followed by wealth and then education on pretty much the same level). I’m guessing that’s why the English are so unimpressive (though the weather and that woeful football team of theirs probably doesn’t do much to cheer them up either).
The Swedes come in at number 7. I guess that’s ok, at least for a nation about which it is said that all the inhabitants are depressive or suicidal.
